Standing Committee Updates

Grievance Committee

On Jan. 26, the Grievance Committee met to discuss how members can file a grievance for a compensation issue. To have grounds to file, you must have recently taken a cut in pay, been demoted or suspended or have been denied an incentive or bonus. For example, if an employee was “reassigned” but that reassignment included a pay cut, there are grounds to file a grievance.

During the 2017 General Council, Marsha Bentley was chosen as the Grievance Committee chairwoman for the 2017-2018 year. If you are interested in attending Grievance Committee meetings, contact Christy Cushing at 801-264-8732 ext. 218 or Christy@upea.net.
