Transcript of UPEA President Jeff Olinger’s Message
Hello,
This is your UPEA president again, Jeff Olinger, with the second President’s Message that we are doing by video. Hope everyone had a great holiday season and the New Year kicked off great for everyone.
In this message, just a couple of things I want to go over.
It is legislative session time again, so please keep in mind to contact your local representatives. If you aren’t sure who your representative is, you can find that on the UPEA webpage, contact your UPEA rep, or contact your district officials – and they can point you in the right direction.
As far as tracking bills that concern public employees, we will be updating our website, Facebook page, and sending out weekly emails to all members.
Coming up in February, we have our UPEA second vice president election. We have two great candidates this year. I hope you vote and take the time to read their information and their statements in this newsletter. They are both great candidates so make sure to get your vote in for your favorite one. Let’s get another great representative in for the second vice president.
Lastly, Mountain America Credit Union and UPEA will be accepting applications for the 2018 scholarships until March 1. If you have someone you want to submit to possibly receive that scholarship, please do so. Submit the write-up, transcripts, and application by March 1 at 5 p.m.
