McKenzie Nelson is one of two new staff members to join the Utah Public Employees’ Association (UPEA).
Nelson, who began working for the Association on Oct. 30, was born and raised in Murray. A recent graduate of the University of Utah, she has a bachelor’s degree in health promotion and education.
While attending the U. of U., she was a university ambassador and a business scholar, and became involved with many community health projects around Salt Lake City. Her employment goal was to work where she felt she could improve lives and make a substantial difference in Utah.
Because she loves to meet new people and be involved with legislation, Nelson is excited to be a part of this organization. Her hobbies include hiking, visiting the aquarium, playing board games, and spending time with her fiancé. So far, she has loved her UPEA training and looks forward to the upcoming legislative session.
Hannah Gorski, also a recent U. of U. graduate with bachelor’s degree in sociology and a minor in psychology, is the second new staff member.
She focused her undergraduate studies on underserved populations in healthcare, conducting research and getting involved through internships.
In her free time, Hannah loves to run, bike, and spend time in the mountains. Hannah is excited to join UPEA in her new position, and is eager to help represent Utah public employees. She looks forward to getting to know UPEA members and to being up at the Capitol for the legislative session.
