It’s summertime and Public Employee Appreciation Days (PEAD) are in full swing. The Utah Public Employees’ Association (UPEA) works hard to ensure that all public employees are protected, compensated, and appreciated in the workplace. One way shows its appreciation is by taking lunch and treats to the work site. The summer months have been full of many PEADs across the state.
On a hot day in June, UPEA served more than 350 employees at the Heber M. Wells Building in downtown Salt Lake City. Employees enjoyed free chips and hotdogs. Some of UPEA’s great vendors such as Costco, Mountain America Credit Union, and Sprint joined us at PEADs throughout the summer, providing raffles, games, and other goodies. PEADs will continue to run throughout August, so please check the calendar to see when the next one is. And if hotdogs aren’t your thing, keep on the lookout for the days we give out nachos, ice cream, or sandwiches.
The PEADS are an excellent opportunity to talk about issues impacting public employees, meet great people, and explain why being a member of UPEA is so vital to our community. If UPEA didn’t hold a PEAD at your office, or an office near you, and you’d like to have one next year, please contact your UPEA representative.
On behalf of UPEA, thank you for your service!
