UPEA District Social Update

District 2 – Ogden/Weber Valley

District 2 leaders decided to postpone their fall social until after the busy holiday season. It will be held in early to mid-January of 2019. A lunchtime social at the Ogden Regional Center catered by Maddox is being planned.

District 4 – Mountainlands

District 4 held their 2nd Annual Summer Pool Party on Friday, August 3. Around 100 members came out to enjoy the end of the summer heat at the Scera Pool in Orem. Toys and outdoor games were given to children and 8 gift cards were raffled to members and their families. Attendees enjoyed snacks and cookies until closing-time. Leadership is already looking forward to the next summer party!

District 5 – Panoramaland

District 5 leaders decided to postpone their fall social until after the busy holiday season. It will be held in early to mid-January of 2019. A catered meal with raffle prizes is being planned in Richfield.

District 6 – Color Country

The Color Country District has a long standing tradition of inviting members and a guest to the Golden Corral Buffet in St. George, Utah. On Sept. 26, members came out to meet other state employees and stay updated about UPEA. UPEA Executive Director, Todd Losser, made the trip down to chat with members in the district. Gift cards to local restaurants were raffled off to 3 lucky winners. District leadership would like to thank everyone that took the time to join us.

District 8 – Southeastern

After not holding a district social in the Southeastern District for a couple years, district leadership decided this was the year to plan one! The social was held at Washington Park in Price on August 2nd. UPEA Executive Director, Todd Losser, attended and grilled up hamburgers and hot dogs from a local butcher shop. Attendees brought lawn games and desserts to share. There was also a raffle drawing for various prizes. All those who attended are excited for next year’s social.

District 10 – Salt Lake Valley Local Government

On Oct. 6, District 10 members attended a fun-filled evening at Cross E. Ranch. There, they enjoyed hayrides, a pumpkin patch, a corn maze, and slides, and ate hotdogs by the campfire. About 90 people purchased tickets for the social and everyone seemed to have a great time despite the cold.

District 12 – Transportation

It’s that time of year again. The UDOT Annual Christmas Social will be held on Friday, November 30, at Legend’s Pub and Grill, 677 S 200 W, Salt Lake City, UT. Social hour begins at 5:30 pm and dinner will be served at 6:30 pm. Come and enjoy good food, good company, and to enter the raffle drawing. Please RSVP by November 19 to one of the following:

District 13/14 – North Temple and Salt Lake Valley General Government

On Sept. 15, district 13 & 14 joined together to hold a social at Murray Park. Members and their families enjoyed sandwiches, nachos, and cake under the pavilion. The districts gave toys to the children in attendance and raffled off gift cards for all members to the Cheesecake Factory, Olive Garden, and Buffalo Wild Wings. Everyone enjoyed the sunny Saturday in the park.
