UPEA staff and members have enjoyed the opportunity to meet with members and fellow employees during district sponsored socials throughout the summer. These events are planned and executed by each district to give members the opportunity to meet each other, learn more about UPEA, and have some fun in the process. Here are the socials that have happened this summer:
On August 3rd the Mountainlands District spent their Saturday evening at Rock Canyon Park in Provo. Despite the wind and rain, members enjoyed barbecue, magic tricks, balloon animals, and the beautiful view with their colleagues and families. All adults entered the raffle for gift baskets or Visa gift cards and 4 lucky winners were drawn. UPEA Executive Director, Todd Losser, Kendle Zdunich, and all of district leadership would like to thank everyone in attendance for braving the rain to socialize with UPEA.
The Southeastern District reserved the Helper Pool on Friday, August 2nd for an evening of swimming and barbecuing. The pool was filled with Utah public employees and their family and friends. and their was a raffle for UPEA members. Executive Director, Todd Losser, grilled hot dogs and hamburgers from the local R&A market. Big thanks to District Chair, Mary Schulz, and Advisory member, Jeff Ollinger, for helping put together this fun event. We look forward to seeing everyone at the Social next year.
Salt Lake Valley Local Government District, North Temple District, & Salt Lake Valley General Government District
On July 27th, three districts within the Salt Lake Valley came together for a fun night of swimming and barbecuing at Crestwood Park in Sandy. Members of UPEA were able to enter a drawing for prizes, which included gift cards from places like TopGolf, Chili’s, and Jamba Juice. It was a great turnout! 125 people RSVP’d and 100 came to the event. Families were able to swim in the pool reserved exclusively for UPEA. It was a great atmosphere and UPEA members from across the Salt Lake Valley got to meet each other and engage outside the workplace.
Here are the socials planned for the coming months:
- Bear River District – September 19th at 6:00pm, Location TBD
- Color Country District – October 24th at Sizzler in Cedar City
If you don’t see your district social in the past or planned list, it may be because they hold their social in the winter. Reach out to your district representative for more information or to help plan an event in your area.
