Jackie Pino has been elected to serve as the new second vice president of the Utah Public Employees’ Association (UPEA) for the 2021-2022 term.

Pino has worked for the state of Utah for more than 33 years with the Department of Corrections, and has been a UPEA member since 1998.  She currently works as a correctional program coordinator at the Division of Adult Probation & Parole.  Within UPEA, she has most recently served as the Law Enforcement District chairwoman, on the UPEA Advisory Council, and as a member of the State Board.  She is the mother of two beautiful daughters and also has a new side job spoiling two lively grandsons whom she adores.

“During my career with law enforcement and in leadership positions with UPEA, I have worked on a variety of employee issues.  I will put what I have learned to good use for UPEA members, leadership, and staff.

“I have been amazed and humbled by the sacrifices, innovation, and strength that our public employees displayed during the global pandemic, and each and every day, as we slowly return to a new normal.  Public employees deserve acknowledgement and recognition for their efforts.”

Pino is excited to take on her new role as second vice president, “I look forward to working with UPEA staff to communicate issues, resolve problems, and provide a voice to support the amazing, hardworking, and dedicated employees of our state.”
